English lessons at McTot’s

1st semester, autumn/winter 2018/19
The courses start on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd August.
Teacher: Clare Ferrari

Following the Jolly Phonics and Oxford Reading Tree programmes, as used in UK schools, our weekly English
classes will enable your child to develop their reading, writing and comprehension skills. Classes will be
tailored to your child’s age and abilities, to ensure that they get the most out of their weekly lesson and gain
the confidence they need to express themselves in English.
Introductory and Beginners classes: We help your child build their fine manipulative skills, which are
necessary to build muscle strength in the hand to help with pencil control when learning to write. We will be
learning to recognise the letters of the alphabet and numbers using pictures, stories, activities so that
your child can start to learn the first skills of writing in a fun way.

I moved from the south of England to Zurich with my husband and 2 children in 2004. Helping my own
children to read and write in English is what inspired me to become a teacher. Since I obtained the
Cambridge CELTA Level 5 English Teaching Certificate, I have enjoyed teaching English to both children and adults.
